Congratulations to our 2021 CSQ Award Winners!

Our Challenge the Status Quo (CSQ) Award recognizes our company’s leading team members each year for their contributions in performance, peer leadership and innovation.

While it wasn’t an easy decision to choose our winners from across the group, our nomination committee meticulously selected individuals who throughout the year displayed the key qualities of a CSQ recipient.

The winner profiles are all included below:

Destination Mazda Vancouver – Darryl McPhail, Assistant Shop Foreman/Journeyman Technician

Darryl‘s contagious positive attitude has been a tremendous source of pride and energy in the shop. It’s not surprising that Darryl was the first technician to certify for the EV vehicles, as his willingness to put his hand up and jump in when needed, especially in helping others, has earned him respect across all departments in the dealership.

There have been many occasions when Darryl has stayed late in order to accommodate a guest’s need to have their car back by a certain time, and without any hesitation or complaints. He consistently comes to work energized and ready to support guests and associates, making him a positive leader on our team and highly deserving of this award.

Destination Toyota Burnaby – Emmanuel Soriano, Service Porter

Emmanuel is a vital part of the service team. He represents himself with a best-in-class attitude. Always first to raise a hand to help a guest or a fellow associate. His presence and demeanour in the service drive is always positive, helpful and optimistic. When he interacts with guests we are always confident that he will provide that guest with utmost care leaving them feeling valued and appreciated.

You’ll never hear Emmanuel say "that's not my job," a characteristic that earns him a high level of respect from his peers and guests.

Destination Honda Burnaby – Noah Desaulniers, Internal Service Advisor

Noah works tirelessly to improve business functions in his areas of expertise, helping to lift the store's overall result. His precision and attention to detail is matched only by his good nature and willingness to help. As a keen observer with a high level of situational awareness, Noah consistently understands when and how best to assist his peers.

His pursuit of excellence can be measured with improvements to internal production times in the Pre-Owned Department and the steady improvement of quality and output as produced by the Detail department.

Shared Services – Steven Castaneto, Payroll Administrator

Steven has worked tirelessly to improve the visibility and reliability of the information to ensure payroll processing is complete, accurate and timely. He always presents a professional and polite demeanour and is open to communicating and finding more efficient ways of doing things.

Steven understands that the extreme confidentiality and private nature of his role requires him to be on-point at all times, and he handles his work behind the scenes with tremendous care and diligence.
