Adil Ahamed Recognized among Auto Remarketing Canada’s Under 40 Honourees

Auto Remarketing Canada (ARC) recognized for the 7th consecutive year its elite class of young men and women achievers, who have made significant accomplishments in automotive remarketing, including auto auctions, dealers, lenders, technology providers, vendors, trade associations, automakers, governmental agencies and more, before reaching the age of 40. This year’s honourees drew a diverse group of dealer and entrepreneur movers and shakers who have helped shape the landscape of the Canadian auto industry.

As managing director and dealer principal of Destination Auto Group, Adil Ahamed, an honoree of the 2021 Remarketing Under 40 class, has overseen the company’s notable growth in pre-owned vehicle operations through a complete rethink of the entire used car vehicle lifecycle and sales process.

“We observed that one of the biggest customer pain points was having to negotiate the price for a pre-owned car when they came into the dealership,” said Ahamed. “Our ‘Best Price First’ policy eliminates the need for negotiation allowing us to build trust with our guests in a stress-free environment, resulting in a higher-quality F&I and delivery experience, and customer satisfaction scores.”

Destination’s Best Price First sales philosophy has enabled the company to build processes around the pre-owned vehicle supply and value chain which has laid the groundwork to adapt quickly as retail trends begin to change, and through which automation and technology enable an even higher quality pre-owned buying experience to guests. Since introducing  Best Price First, Destination’s dealerships have climbed into the top ranks of dealership pre-owned tables. In addition, CarGurus has recognized Destination Mazda as a 2021 Top Rated Dealer, and AutoTrader Canada has recognized Destination Toyota and Destination Mazda with the “Best Price Dealer” accolade for 2020.

Underlying the dealership group’s growth in pre-owned has been a number of staff engagement and training programs that focus attention on Destination’s proprietary sales process and leading KPIs. Sales teams are coached in near real-time to precision points across the sales funnel, and managers are empowered with the tools and resources to make decisions quickly, all predicated on finding the right solution for every customer.
